History
Mount Stuart, on the Isle of Bute, is a striking example of Victorian opulence and innovation. Rebuilt in the late 19th century by the 3rd Marquess of Bute after a fire destroyed the original house, it features neo-Gothic architecture and was among the first homes in Scotland to have electricity and a heated indoor pool. Designed with Sir Robert Rowand Anderson, it reflects the Marquess’s passion for art, religion, and mysticism.

Scope of Work
Sigma Surveys assisted Gleeds with their full measured building survey by undertaking high level drone mapping of the areas where terrestrial scanning was unachievable:
This included the following;
- Roof and High-Level Areas: Capturing these areas using our DJI Matrice 300 RTK UAV equipped with the Zenmuse P1 camera.
- Ground Control Points (GCPs): Establishing GCPs with coordinates matching those used for the terrestrial scanning data.
- Image Processing: Post-processing over 5,000 images in DJI Terra and Pix4D to produce a 3D point cloud and model that seamlessly integrated with the terrestrial scan dataset.
