Sigma Surveys use a Trimble R8 GPS system. The Trimble R8 consistently delivers precise positioning performance. With the ability to track GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellites through the highest frequency channels, the Trimble R8 system is the best, most accurate and future-proof piece of surveying technology on the market today. The Trimble R8 can be integrated with Trimble VRS (Virtual Reference Station) which omits the use of a GPS base station by streaming real time corrections through a GPRS enabled mobile phone, therefore eliminating the need for GPS post processing software. The real time corrections are perfect for setting-out as it enables us to visit site and set-out coordinates without establishing a GPS base station. Productivity is improved and costs are decreased as only one GPS antenna is required.
