Sigma Surveys is able to draw elevations of many types of structures including, but not limited to, buildings, bridges, and monuments. We use a bespoke elevation application called MBS elevation software. By setting up our Trimble S6 non-contact total station adjacent to the structure we are measuring, we can create a plane which allows us to intersect the detail on the side of the structure without physically taking measurements. This increases accuracy by hitting the exact corner of a line or feature without the laser missing and hitting an object behind. It also increases productivity as we do not have to wait for the laser to reflect and log a distance for each measurement. Each observation is streamed from the total station to a tablet PC in real time enabling the surveyor to see what they have measured. Once the data has been collected on site, it is exported directly to AutoCAD before being delivered to the client.
